It is the Monday, so you know what we here at TITS are bringing you, Mixtape Monday! We present to you “Sex, Drugs & Hip-Hop” by G-Unit & 50 Cent’s right hand man Tony Yayo. By now we all know that the almighty unit of past is, well in the past. G-unit is no longer the powerhouse it was early in the decade when 50 was tearing up the charts. But one thing that cannot be denied is the consistency that the Unit’s mixtape have had since they came into the game. Tony Yayo continues the streak. “Sex, Drugs & Hip-Hop” is a perfect title for the content of the mixtape. You are going to get a lot of sex and drug references throughout. The issue is never the content, but how you deliver the content. In the case of Yayo, he uses decent rhymes with clean beats and catchy hooks to make hot music. Don’t disregard Yayo as “50′s tax writeoff”, Yayo did his thing on this mixtape. Believe! If you don’t, give it a listen and let us know if you agree or disagree. At the very least listen to “Make It Snow”, “2 Girls”, “Tables” and “Pissy”. Dope or wack?

“Sex, Drugs & Hip-Hop” features guest verses from OG Bun B, Slim Thug, Gucci Mane, Cory Gunz & Danny Brown.

You already know what we do every Monday! We present to you another dope mixtape that we feel our fans should check out. This Mixtape Monday we spotlight G.O.O.D. Music’s own, CyHi the Prynce who just put out his 5th mixtape, “Ivy League Club”. CyHi’s name first began ringing when he showed up on the G.O.O.D. Music cypher during the BET Hip-Hop Awards a couple years back. Ever since he has been on his grind putting out mixtape after mixtape, feature after feature. This mixtape is no different from what you should expect from any Kanye West associate; nice beats, clever lyrics, in all, GOOD music. The “Ivy League Club” theme is prevalent throughout the mixtape, which makes it a cohesive project from beginning to end. Highly recommended that you check it out. At the very least you will be impressed with the instrumentals! Every beat is nice. But don’t sleep on CyHi’s wordplay.

“Ivy League Club” boasts appearances from fellow Georgia natives; B.O.B., Travis Porter, Pill, Trouble along with Chris Brown, fellow labelmate Big Sean, and up and comers Big KRIT, Yelawolf, and Schoolboy Q.

When I 1st heard Childish Gambino 16 months ago, I didn’t give him a chance. All I kept thinking was, this is the geeky guy from “Community”. I thought, I don’t want to listen to a nerd rap about whatever a nerd would rap about (that thought sounds dumb to me now). That was then, this is now. His new mixtape Royalty is flames! On this mixtape Gambino produces or co-produces 11 of the 20 tracks. His skills behind the boards have improved as have his skills on the mic.

Childish is a witty comedian, having written for “30 Rock” before he decided to pursue a rap career. His music is just as witty. No dumbing it down here. At some point you may think that Gambino is spittin’ the same ol’ same ol’ cliche content everyone else in the mainstream seems to be spittin’, materialism for example, rewind it and listen again. There is a something you can pick up from each song. There is a message throughout the mixtape. If you need to verify his credibility on the mic, check out the list of features on this mixtape: Nipsey Hussle, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Bun B, RZA, Ghostface Killah, Danny Brown and Alley Boy. That is about as diverse a features lists as you can get! Childish Gambino is growing as an artist, this music cements him as an artist on the come up.

This is a highly recommended mixtape. A must listen for all Hip-Hop heads.

Standout Tracks: “Black Faces” featuring Nipsey Hussle, “Unnecessary” featuring “Schoolboy Q & Ab-Soul” “Toxic” featuring Danny Brown

What do you rate it? Dope or wack?

Yeeaaah! It is Mixtape Monday. This week we present you with “Psalm 82 v6″ by Long Beach’s Crooked I. You may have heard of Crooked I as being 1/4th of the super group Slaughterhouse. Crooked I has been around for almost 2 decades. He was even signed to Death Row at one point. He was able to get in the spotlight when he dropped his “Hip-Hop Weekly” series in which he gave fans a new freestyle every week for a year straight.

Now he blesses us with Psalm 82 v6, for those wondering what that verse says; “I say, ‘You are gods; you are all children of the Most High”. If you have heard Crooked I before, then you know the man is god-like on the mic. This mixtape serves as a teaser for fans and an brief intro to newcomers about the skills that Crooked possesses. The mixtape features appearances from Twista, Trae The Truth, Kurupt, Ras Kass, K-Young, Slaughterhouse and even an appearance from the Real Freeway Ricky Ross, among others. If you only want to sample a song or two before downloading, then we recommend the songs; “Monsters ft Slaughterhouse”, “3 the Hard Way ft Ras Kass & Kurupt” and “Real N*ggaz”. After listening to it, what do you think? Dope or wack?

Mixtape Monday is here! This week we present to you the “Yellow Album” by “Leimert Park Legend” Dom Kennedy. This the 7th project that Dom has put out since 2008. Yellow Album boasts guest appearances from Bay Area legend Too $hort, Compton newcomer Kendrick Lamar, the Boss Rick Ross and Indiana’s Freddie Gibbs. If you have listened to Dom before, then you know what to expect, laid back lyrics over crisp and smooth beats. If you are new to Dom Kennedy’s music, don’t expect to be lyrically perplexed. Dom is more of a “game spitter” than a lyricist. We feel there is a time and place for all music and Dom makes feel good, relaxing, easy to vibe music. Give it a listen and let us know what you think.
