Damn . . . RIP
Rage on the River is nothing short of crazy. B-Boy met Sean Ruiz (the originator of Rage on the River) on Twitter; he was always pushing our line real heavy. He met up with B-Boy in San Francisco, where they brokered a relationship for Rage on the River. Each following year, we’ve designed a shirt for Rage on the River in Dixon, CA, outside of Sacramento. And each party is more wild than the year previous. Our shirt this year features the ever-beautiful Heather Shanholtz, posing in an image that has come to define ROTR. The girls, the sun and the party all go down on June 30. Get your tee or tank here first!
Karmaloop is, simply put, an extension of Greg Selkoe’s passions. Selkoe, launched the online retailer in 2000 as an aggregator for all of the underground clothing lines popping up in cities across the U.S., undermining the monopolies held by companies such as Banana Republic, Gap, Old Navy and the remaining brands that were about as vanilla as a church wafer. New Yorkers and the denizens of L.A. had access to the more successful and fashionable underground lines, but other than those privileged few, most urban clothing enthusiasts and street wear advocates remained separated from those who share their passions and contribute to the scene. Karmaloop quickly became the answer to those divided from the styles they embodying the lifestyle they lived.
As Karmaloop became the vehicle for bringing street style to the masses, they quickly found themselves the standard bearers in the scene. They mobilized their influence in the political realm, pushing heavy for Obama in the 2008 election. To express their newfound influence, they opened up several media brands such as Karmaloop TV, which employs Pharell as their creative director, to distribute content to their fan base.
While their influence was felt nationally, Karmaloop held firm to their humble beginnings. Their office space remains in Boston, where Karmaloop began in the basement of Greg’s parent’s home. Boston, for Karmaloop, serves as the perfect location. They don’t get lost amid the NY shuffle and staff up with plenty of fresh college talent thanks to the excess of local top-tier universities. For a brand that’s striving to counter the fashion blah that tends to ooze from NYC, Boston serves as the perfect foil.
Karmaloop has been a tremendous asset to Two in the Shirt. Not only for our brand, but for our buyers. The founding premise of Karmaloop is helping brands such as Two in the Shirt connect with fans that Two in the Shirt was previously unavailable to. And, thanks to Karmaloop, we’re consistently encountering new fans of our brand and our tees. For that, and for those that think dressing right doesn’t involve Chinos and the word “Oxford,” we salute Karmaloop. Keep up the good work.
Lately, Nike has been designing the Lebron X with intricate color schemes. Since color is such a big part of our design, Two in the Shirt is the perfect fit for any Lebron’s shoe design. Check out some of our summer shirts that go with the new Nike Lebrons Xs and pick them up over at our shop !
For the past three years we’ve been designing t-shirts for the H-Town Sneaker Summit. It’s one of our favorite events, and we always bring a new shirt and new design to the Summit to complement the shoes, the people and the city. This year, we shot with Rosa Acosta, who we’ve worked with in the past. Her shoot was intentionally minimal, allowing plenty of room for our designers to work with Rosa’s body canvas.
On July 28, we’ll be in H-Town with Rosa to debut her shirt and enjoy the H-Town gathering among sneakerheads and tee-freaks alike. See you there.

Today we take a look at some art from Liverpool-based illustrator, Joe Murtagh whose style has been described as “a brilliant batch of chic death and retro decay.” That sounds about right…

A fusion of Italian-American style, Gourmet pulls off the impossible feat of mediating between the cultures of Italian suits, American pop culture ephemera and street/skate culture. Tasty kicks.

The Birdman is most comfortable when he is soaring above the chaos, over the rim, poised to swat the basketball away or to slam it home. Elevation has always suited him best.
At the moment, however, the Birdman is sitting, maybe a little uneasily, the focus of two dozen reporters and television cameras, all seeking colorful insight from the Miami Heat’s most colorful player, who generally avoids these messy scrums.
Chris Andersen — known universally as the Birdman, or sometimes just Bird — responds dutifully, his answers concise, his expression warm but wary.
Tits Tuesday – The Original Wifey Tee – $10
The original Wifey tee came about as an ode to the ladies we have known. It’s a mismatch of classy swank and Everclear. It’s Christian Louboutin Decolletes and Tori Praver bikinis and a scratch running down her back, abutting a tattoo on her thigh. This tee pays respect Wifey, the girl who knows how to live with and without. She’s a goddess and a demon, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Known for his opulent taxidermy sculptures, Portland-based artist Peter Gronquist has a solo show coming up at New York’s ArtNowNY on June 6 titled “One in a Million.” A new collection of taxidermy sculptures and paintings, Gronquist’s work questions materialistic values in a recession-era America. Bombastic in their own right, the sculptures transform weaponry and animal heads into delicate, albeit ironic monuments to beauty and excess. Get a first look at Gronquist’s new work and a peek into his studio below and see the exhibition on view June 6 – July 6.

I-90. We didn’t move for nearly three hours. Apparently someone’s dog jumped out their window, causing a semi to flip while trying to avoid the flying canine. A two hour trip became a six hour trip.
Wake up. Set up.
The day began in true Gorge fashion: Windy, warm and full of beautiful women.
The performers did not disappoint. Of everyone we watched or met, J. Cole was a unanimous Two in the Shirt favorite.
The people you meet at festivals are like neighbors in kindergarten, instant friends.
We partied late into the night, packed up and left at dawn the next day. Summer Jam ’13 may have come and gone, but our summer is just beginning. Keep Calm and Grind On.
Exxxotica 2013
Iesha has the business ethic of a Fortune 50 executive. She spent a considerable amount of time at our booth each day signing flyers and posing for pictures, keeping up her look the whole time.
Stopping to cop a feel of herself.
These girls wandered around dancing to dub-step from the Nug booth. It’s quite possible that they were rolling on molly the whole time, but the evidence is circumstantial. That dude with the neatly tucked in construction-worker-orange sleeveless in the background, made this picture all the better.
The Nug girls carried flags around to dance with the whole time. Sam is asking about their opinion on Obama’s foreign policy concerning the Arab-Israeli conflict, or something.
Heather stopped by and signed some autographs. She took a break from stroking her John Hancock to pose by her design.
Exxxotica has a car and bike show. Some ridiculous shit.
The Nug DJ that was blasting dubstep for the mollies to dance to rocking our Claudia Sampedro “Junk in the Trunk” tee. We finished up the night partying with the Nug crew. Those guys throw an unreal hotel party.
Cassandra Walker | Mary Kelly | NYC
Two in the Shirt
The shoot took place in NYC, on a street like any other in the Big Apple: dirty, with fruit stands everywhere and a hint of Italian cooking wafting through the air.
As a designer, photographer or studied observer of beauty in the everyday, you become highly attuned to those rare moments when someone actualizes the full potential of their beauty, when their physical attraction reaches a threshold that they will summit only once or twice more in their life. Today, Mary and Cassandra were practically glowing, which made the shoot go better than planned.
Of course, that’s not to say that Cassandra and Mary didn’t have some help. Shout out to the make up and style team for accenting their features to the utmost.
Sometimes all you need is a bikini and a tiny slice of Americana to create a breathtaking panorama.
Killin’ it.
We at Two in the Shirt worship the Wifey. She is the face and attitude of our brand and the muse of our everyday creativity. Now, we want to find out what Wifey means to you. So, we’re introducing #WifeyWednesday.
Here’s how it works: Every Wednesday, tweet us photos of your Wifey or your interpretation of her excellence. Then, (after straining our coffee through a cheesecloth and cutting the crust off our fluffernutters), the Interns will determine if you best represents the Wifey lifestyle and, if chosen, you will receive an amazing award selected at random! The award may be a shirt, a blow-up triceratops, the rights to name our marketing director’s firstborn — it’s completely up to them.
Any questions? Tweet us!
Happy Wifey-ing! (Protip: Rocking Two in the Shirt or using the Wifey app is a bonus).

Teleport members Mikealis and Don Mimosa have been best friends since meeting in Hampton, VA at the age of 5. While Mikealis (pronounced Mike-a-lis) brings his big city swagger to their beats, Don Mimosa deals in street-level parlance that praises chinese take-out, bottles of Andre and chain-smoking piff. The two bounce off each other, offering vantage points from the upper and lower balconies of the big city.
Recent videos Filthy Kids and HTC (Hold the Crown) with cinematography and direction by Mark Garcia finally gave their fans some visuals for the music. With a DIY mentality, members of Teleport Team have jumped behind the cameras themselves and worked with Heartless Creativity. Whether it’s a rocking a grimy basement party drenched in PBR, entertaining at Hamptons mixers with sand-filled Toms and bottles of champagne, music festivals in California, or exclusive night clubs in Manhattan, Teleport Team fits in wherever they show up.
Teleport remains on the job: shooting videos, writing music, and late-night sessions in the studio. Music is what they love.
